            Rainey reportedly moved to Tenn after 1786.

            1773 Fincastle, Va tax list: Abraham Goad Jr.
            1777-78 Abraham Goad took the oath of allegiance under Daniel Trigg at Christiansburg, Montgomery Co, Va.  His cousin
                    
Abraham Goad (#23) also took the oath of allegiance and they were referred to as Abraham and Abram Jr.
            1779 Abraham was heir in his father Abraham's will, receiving half of his father's land.
        ?  1782 Pittsylvania Co, Va land tax list: Abraham Goad, 180 acres.  (although he apparently died a few years earlier)
            1784, 19 Apr: Pittsylvania Co, Va Court Order Bk 5, p 78: "Raney Goad is the wife of Abraham Goad who died in Continental
                      service and the same is ordered certified."
            1786, 19 Jun: Pittsylvania Co Order Bk 5, p 323: "Rainey Goad is the widow of Abraham Goad who died in the service of his
                      country and is allowed six pounds per annum which is ordered certified to the Governor and Council."
            1804: Suit instituted by John Smith against Rainey Goad, Nancy Goad, and Milly Goad, to satisfy a debt with Abraham's inher-
                      itance.
            1805: Pittsylvania Co Order Bk 11, p 220 and 313: Last record of the above suit.  The plaintiff John Smith was allowed to recover
                      294 acres of land on Frying Pan Creek, formerly belonging to Abraham Goad.
            1835 Owen Co, Ky: Edward Jennings applied for pension for his RW service.  He stated that in 1778 he participated as a member
                     of the Fincastle Co militia in a march to Hillsborough, NC.  He was placed to nurse one Abraham Goad who was taken sick
                     and afterward died (near now Durham, NC).

             Note:  Rainey's name given as Mary Elizabeth Rainey by many websites, although her first name was Rainey acc to the records.
                        Abraham was b ca 1735 and d Jun 1786 acc to
Jody Goad, but he supposedly died in the War, which would have been a
                        few years earlier.  This birth year is prob a guess.
