             1776, 30 Nov: Craven Co, SC: William Goad wit to will of Francis Travers.  Ref: "

             1779 Pittsylvania Co, Va: William Goad received 1 shilling as heir in his father Abraham's will.
             1780, 1784, 1790, 1792: approx birth years for his children for whom the records give SC as their place of birth.

             1790, 25 Nov: Chester Co, SC Deed Book C, p 208: William Kirkland Jr deeded 150 acres on a branch of Turkey Creek to William
                       Goad of Chester Co for 10 lbs sterling.
             1795, Jan: Chester Co Deed Bk D, p 413: William Goad and wife Mary sold land in Chester Co for 60 lbs sterling.  He signed his
                       name.
             1803, 23 Nov: Roane Co, Tenn (formed from Knox Co in 1801) Deed Bk A-D, p 255: Wm Goad of Knox Co for $200, purchased
                       200 acres on Clear Creek in the E Dist, on the N side of the Tenn River, in Roane Co (in portion that became Rhea Co in
                       1807).  William's land was near Walden Ridge.
             1810 Rhea Co, Tenn court minutes: Wm Goad registered his livestock's mark: "a crop off the left ear and a half penny out of the
                      under part of this ear".
             1813 Rhea Co: Willliam Goad Sr sold 10 acres on both sides of Clear Creek to R. G. Waterhouse.
             1819 Rhea Co tax list: William Goad.
             1820 census, William not located (Rhea Co census not available)
             1820 Rhea Co: Wm Goad signed petition to alter a road.
             1825, 18 Feb: Rhea Co: Willliam Goad (?Sr or Jr) and Thomas G. Goad deeded 60 acres on Clear Creek to William Kennedy.
             1830, Feb: Rhea Co: William's will dated 11 Sep 1828, proven; executors were children Robert and Ruth, who were each given 1/2
                       of all the real estate, and requested to support William's wife Mary during her natural life.  The other children, Thomas, Wm,
                       Edward, Sally, Peggy, Mary, and Betsy received 25 cts each.
             1830, Mar: Rhea Co: Wm Goad's widow and his heirs sold 76 acres of land, lying on both sides of Clear Creek, to Henry Collins
                       for $500.

               ?  1825, Aug: Smith Co, Tenn Minute Bk 11, p 359: Ordered that Ned Goad be appointed overseer of the road in the stead of
                            Elnathan Davis and have the said hands and bounds.  (this could be the same peson as Edward Goad, but no proof)
                   1829, May: Rhea Co: Edward Goad's will proven (dated 10 Nov 1828), leaving all personal property and 1/2 interest in 100
                             acres on the E side of Walden's Ridge to wife Ruth (this land was Grant #7511 to Edward from NC); and leaving 1/4
                             interest each to Benjamin Stout and William Kennedy.  No children mentioned.
